M.A.S.H. Drop-Inn
- M.A.S.H. Drop Inn provides emergency shelter to children and youth, birth to seventeen, for up to thirty days. Our shelter is a home-like setting with ten beds. Children and youth are transported to and from the school where they are enrolled in Fayette County, or the agency’s district school. Some of the after school and evening activities may include educational tutoring, recreation activities, independent skills development and fun group activities.
- M.A.S.H. Drop Inn attempts to alleviate homeless and runaway situations, act as a “safety net” for youth with foster care disruptions, and offers a “three day cooling off” for youth/ families in crisis.
- Children, youth and their families may receive counseling or by referrals in their community while staying in the shelter. Aftercare services are offered after leaving the shelter for up to six months.
- Children, youth and families may call or walk-in for services or be referred by community professionals. Children and youth may seek services on their own through any Safe Place site in Lexington and Woodford County.
- M.A.S.H. Drop Inn is a 24-hour facility, and has a telephone listing through the National Runaway Switchboard at 1-800 Runaway.
